Corinthians, deprived of those players who guided them to Copa Libertadores glory on Wednesday night, look set to hand a first-team debut to Brazil Under-20 full-back Denner this Sunday.
Denner, 18, is recognised as one of the most promising names in Brazilian football and has shot to national attention with his performances at the Copa São Paulo youth tournament, as well as the recent Under-20 Copa Libertadores, where Corinthians finished third.
As the only recognised left-back named by coach Tite for the trip to Recife to face Sport, there is every chance that Denner will be given his competitive bow in the match, with fellow 18-year-old Marquinhos (nominally a centr-back) the other option for the position.
From Corinthians victorious Copa São Paulo squad of January, central defenders Marquinhos and Antônio Carlos, along with midfielder Fernando Gomes, have already made several appearances for the first eleven, whilst Giovanni and Denner are set to be next into the fray.
Signed from Portuguesa earlier this year, Guilherme is also in-line to make his Corinthians debut.
Goalkeepers: Julio Cesar, Danilo Fernandes
Defenders: Weldinho, Ramon, Denner, Paulo André, Wallace, Marquinhos, Antônio Carlos, Felipe
Midfielders: Willian Arão, Guilherme, Douglas, Ramírez, Giovanni
Forwards: Liedson, Romarinho, Elton, Adilson
